Formally founded in 2024, by Dr. Carolyn M. Coles, BlaCri, is a community development organization focused on supporting professionals working towards liberatory change in the fields of criminology and criminal justice.

BlaCri operationalizes a love ethic (championed by bell hooks) through community building & curated educational exchange through travel.

We envision a world where Black folks in criminology, criminal justice, and aligned fields are supported and connected to partners and collaborators in transformative ways. We envision a future where perspective sharing and practical application are the cornerstones of the profession.
